“I am originally from Johannesburg, Tembisa, South Africa. I first became involved with Canada World Youth in 2003 when I was the South African Project Supervisor on a program in Ontario and South Africa. I have worked 2 other contracts as the South African Project Supervisor on the Africa Canada Eco-leadership Programs – one in Golden, BC and one on the Sunshine Coast,
BC. This is my third time working with Ukraine and working in Mission BC. In addition to this, I have done countless Volunteer Orientation Camps and community orientations for a variety of programs.
I enjoy working in partnership with National University of Ostroh Academy Ukraine. I am fascinated by the history and culture of Eastern Europe – different from anything that I have experienced either here in Canada or in South Africa. I have come into contact with many Ukrainian participants through the program, this is my third time working with Ukraine and working in Mission BC and through VOC work and their stories and experiences have made me very interested in Ukraine as a country and culture.
Outside of Canada World Youth, I am busy playing lots of sports such as soccer, soccer and more soccer. And sometimes cricket. I also love music festivals, dancing, movies, politics and playing tennis. My home base in Canada is in Vancouver, BC.
I am currently implementing the first stage of the educational plan, i.e. finding host families and volunteer work placements, educational resources, and community contacts so that the community of Mission is prepared for your arrival.”
